I had to write about you. Here in this place where I'm honoring you. Photography was the reason why we've met, photography was the common denominator in our language. You were a quiet, low-profile and almost a timid person. You always spoke with your gaze, and your child-like smile said things that your mouth wouldn’t speak: that you were a proud father of your two little girls, a devoted husband of your wife and a restless traveler all over Timor, a land you adopted as your home. And a friend, a dear friend.
Photography and traveling were your stuff and, when you spoke about them, you were really enthusiastic! The trips in Timor, mainly by motorbike, and the photography, “married" in a perfect union, as we can see in your beautiful photos. I remember our photographic adventures: to Tassi Tolo in the evening, to the waterfalls.., we've even pursued and tried to photograph the moon, when it was full, but it was hidden that day... and we ended up never getting it.
You will be kept in my memory as one of the purest persons I have ever known.
You're a good man, Nuno, and as so you will always be remembered.
You've departed too soon.
May you keep making your wonderful photos there, in the place of perfect light where you live now.
See you one day, my friend, and then we'll finally capture the moon with our cameras.
RIP
Isabel
