Field Mice
Title of this art: A Tiny Guest
Hello Steemies,
Good day. We have another cute theme today and I had been excited working on my submission. I am happy that the little story that goes with each submission is going along great. I decided to give it a title The Blue Bells. The story is centered on the life of a florist named Mrs. Bertie, follow along as she makes a journey guided by the artstorm daily prompts.
The Blue Bells
Scene 5 : A Tiny Guest
It was almost dark when Mrs. Bertie and her son went inside after making lots of snow angels. It is really cold outside and the snow is starting to fall again. What better way to keep warm than a sweet treat and a hot cup of drink. Inside the Blue Bells Cafe, there were still some customers lounging who would not want to stay for a nice cozy atmosphere? Harris can smell the sweet aroma of cinnamon and hot chocolate from an adjacent table. Mrs. Bertie was quick to prepare a quick meal inside the Blue Bells kitchen.
Debbie arrived for her cupcake taste test, she intends to sell her sweet goodies to Mrs. Bertie's cafe. She opened the cafe door letting in a cold breeze and forgot to close it. Or...maybe something got stuck in the door. Harris heard a little screeching sound but it was so faint that he could not tell what it was. Everyone was busy with the taste test and the customers had already gone home. A tiny field mouse managed to get in the cafe. He was wearing his warm winter clothes but he is shaking because of the cold and hunger. His family had nothing to eat for the day because of this cold winter day. He is trying his luck maybe he can find some food in the city.
Harris took notice of this tiny visitor and was delighted to see him. He knows the tiny field mouse is looking for food and so he quietly sneaked into the kitchen to pack some sweet treats for the little visitor. Debbie saw the tiny creature and she shriek loudly with disbelief causing the said visitor to run towards the door. It was such a chaotic scene looking from the outside: Mrs. Bertie and Debbie running here and there bumping into tables and chairs while the poor little mouse is frightened. Harris is now done packing and is holding a small brown bag with the name of their cafe on it. Poor boy, he was feeling sad when he found out his little visitor is gone. Harris is thinking about what could have happened to the field mouse out in the cold with no food.
I hope you like it. Until next time.
Cheers,
@dinglehopper
