Khorog - a small but locally important town, the capital of the Gorno-Badakhshan Autonomous Region in Tajikistan. Just across the river are the mountains of Afghanistan. And here is a picture shot on a hilltop just outside of Khorog, in the local Botanical Garden which was pretty dried up as it was mid-November when I was passing through.
