Chess Blitz of the Day - Alexander Morozevich Vs Evgeny Tomashevsky | Amazing Queen Endgame.

Chess Blitz of the Day

Tournament = Chess World Cup 2013.

Alexander Morozevich

He had his first major international performance by winning the Lloyds Bank tournament in London at 9.5 / 10 and his ultra-aggressive and unconventional chess has always given him the potential to wreck any opponent. Although this approach has usually left him in the most prominent tournaments, his successes include a winning triplet at Biel (2003, 2004 and 2006) and the title of Russian Champion in 2007. 2012 was a typical bipolar year for the volatile Russian; Took the lead with 4/5 in Memorial Tal only to lose the next three games and finish 4th. Shortly thereafter he retired from the Biel tournament claiming health problems after two defeats. As usual, however, he later had a triumphant return to action, winning a fast tournament in Moscow and impressing at the FIDE Grand Prix.

Evgeny Tomashevsky

Tomashevsky is another strong great Russian master on the periphery of the chess elite. Although his progress has not been very spectacular compared to others of his peers, he won the Russia Under-18 Championship in 2001, at the age of 13, he was runner-up in the U18 world a year later and became European Champion In 2009. In team competitions he has twice won the European Club Cup and helped Russia win the gold in the 2009 World Team Championship.
