This is My City

Bogor City is not big. There is no skyscrappers. There are some tall buildings for hotels and malls. But they are not too tall. Around 5 to 6 storeys.

This is Devries Market. It is close to Bogor Train Station and Merdeka Bus Terminal. It is an old market. Dutch colonializer left it when Indonesia declared his independence in 1945. The market now mixed with other new buildings but not making many changes.

As you can see in these photos, the market stands not in flat surface. The road is sloping to the right. I don't know why Dutch built this market in such land's condition.

Pasar Devries, Bogor

Kota Bogor bukan kota besar. Tak ada gedung pencakar langit di sini. Memang ada beberapa gedung tinggi, seperti hotel dan mal, tapi tingginya cuma 5-6 lantai.

Ini Pasar Devries. Letaknya dekat dengan Stasiun Bogor dan Terminal Merdeka. Pasar tua peninggalan penjajah Belanda. Pasar itu kini bercampur dengan gedung-gedung baru tapi pada dasarnya tak banyak yang berubah.

Seperti kau lihat di foto-foto ini, pasar itu terletak di permukaan tanah yang miring. Jalan di depannya terus menurun sampai dekat jembatan. Aku tak tahu mengapa Belanda membangun pasar di tanah seperti ini.
