How do we mainstream gold and Steemit?

(Noticed I said mainstream, not mainline).

We already have it nailed down within our own community. Everyone here already knows about Steemit, and everyone knows what gold is.

But do people understand the VALUE of Steemit and gold ownership BEYOND Steemit? This is something we all need to work together to accomplish.

To make people outside Steemit understand Steemit we usually have to dangle the rewards in front of them first. Getting paid for content is something people have a basic grasp of.

As we all know, the big secret of Steemit is that we end up staying for the community :)
