Coinbase and Bitcoin Core 0.16.0 Launched Full Support To Segregated Witness

Coinbase announced in February 24, 2018 that the site is already implementing SegWit on Bitcoin deposits and withdrawals.

Two days after, the Bitcoin Core client has officially released its version which supports SegWit.

Segregated Witness is a major improvement to Bitcoin protocol which promises to reduce processing times and transaction fees, which has been a big request from Bitcoin users since its release in August 2017 through BIP 141.

With these adoptions to SegWit, it is expected that there will be a major increase in the Bitcoin network speed.


The Government Of Venezuela Opens A School That Will Teach Citizens On Cryptocurrencies

After its launch of its oil-backed cryptocurrency 'Petro', the Venezuelan government has opened a training center to educate citizens about cryptocurrencies.

The courses will include how to buy, sell, and mine cryptocurrencies, and as well as about the country's oil-backed crypto, the Petro.

Prior to the announcement of the training center, the President of Venezuela, Nicolas Maduro also encouraged Universities across the country to set up mining farms and has approved the resources needed for the installation of these student mining farms.
