Starbucks Coffee A Blockchain Payments App

In a segment of Fox Business Network (an American business news channel) on February 27, 2018, Starbucks executive chairman Howard Shultz hinted a blockchain payment app for a cashless store.

Shultz believes that the blockchain technology is more likely the rails in which Starbucks integrated app will carry out.

He has hedged that Starbucks has always taken the long term and that they will not make decisions that are based on this quarter or following quarter's performance.

He concluded that if you look at what the company has achieved to date and what steps they are taking now, the future of Starbucks is our best days are in front of us.


A Japanese-based Belgian Restaurant Now Accepts NEM (XEM)

St. Arnould restaurant is famous for its Belgian beers and some traditional food such as stewed beef carbonade and cheeses.

It is owned by a Japanese businessman Yousuke Sato and he decided to move the restaurant from Nagoya to Akasaka, Tokyo in November 2017.

Yousuke Sato has known cryptocurrencies since five years ago and began tweeting about them.

Two years ago, Sato was visited by a customer who is a cryptocurrency user and offered to pay XEM for a 1,200 yen pizza.

Sato immediately became interested in accepting digital currency payments and so he said yes.

St. Arnould became the first Japanese restaurant or store to accept XEM payments for food and has raised around 8 million yen ($75,040).
