Bitcoin Price Rises As Reports Say Peter Thiel Buying Massive Amounts Of The Cryptocurrency

The Wall Street Journal recently reported that Peter Thiel, an early Facebook investor and co-founder of PayPal bought millions of dollars in Bitcoin.

Coinbase said that Bitcoin price rose more than 13.5%, from around $13k to $15k, after the news was released on Tuesday, January 02, 2018.

Thiel once said at a conference in late October that Bitcoin is being underestimated by people and even compared it to gold.

He said that if Bitcoin will end up being the cyber-equivalent of gold, it will have a great potential left.


Report Says There Could Be More Bitcoin Billionaires Other Than Winklevoss Twins

According to MSN Money citing a Blockchain data from BitInfoCharts, a blockchain data aggregation website, that there could be as much as 200 Bitcoin billionaires and no fewer than 35.

BitInfoCharts currently found six addresses that hold more than $1 billion worth of BTC.

One address is identified as owned by Bitfinex and the others are still unknown but may belong to other cryptocurrency exchanges, hedge funds or custodial services.
