Germany Will Not Tax Cryptos Used To Make Purchases

The tax-exemption only applies when they are used as a means of payment.

The decision was made citing the European Court's 2015 decision that it considers these digital currencies as a legal means of payment.

Miner rewards are also included in the tax exemption as they are paid on a voluntary basis.

Other transactions that involved cryptocurrencies such conversion from fiat to crypto or vice versa are subject to capital gains tax.
