Facebook Exploring Blockchain

The Head of Facebook’s Messaging App, David Marcus, said that they are exploring possible application for Blockchain technology.

He said that he is forming a small group that will explore Blockchain and to find out how to best leverage it.

Marcus has been with facebook for almost four years now leading the team that develops and maintain Facebook’s messenger app.

He also joined Coinbase as a board member.

Earlier this year Facebook initiated a blanket ban of any crypto related ads in its social media.

A move that seems to be odd since its founder Mark Zuckerberg has expressed
Interest in cryptocurrency around the same period.

ICOs Are Necessary, Says Binance CEO

The world Biggest Cryptocurrency exchange Binance CEO, Changpeng Zhao, wrote in ablog-post that raising funding though ICO 100 times easier than through traditional VC.

Speaking from firsthand experience many VC investors have no clue about the projects they invest in and many of them are no experience and understanding of the technologies involved in their venture.

He further explains that ICO-funded projects will be more successful than those that are funded with traditional VC and in fact he noted that VC has begun directly investing through ICOs.

Fundstrat Analysts Predict Bitcoin To Rally On Consensus Conference

According to researchers in Fundstrat Globals, led by Tom Lee, the price of bitcoin is relatively cheap ahead of major cryptocurrency conference in New York next week.

Historically speaking when attendance doubled bitcoin increase 69% during this types of conference and another increase of about 138% two months later.

This in the assumption that bitcoin price movement will mimic past years observation that cryptocurrencies rally during consensus.

Department of Homeland Security Says Blockchain Uses Is Almost Limitless

The Division Director of Deparment of Homeland Security, Douglas Maughan, said that the application for Blockchain technology is virtually limitless.

He reveals this thought before two congressional subcommittees last Tuesday where they were hearing leveraging Blockchain technology to improve supply chain management to combat counterfeit goods.

The hearing was mainly educational by nature but did not deter private entities from different industries to express their desire to implement Blockchain technology in their business a view that somewhat called the attention of some law makers as they have concluded that America should lead in Blockchain research and implementation.

Colorado For Blockchain Technology

Senate Bill (SB) 18-086 which requires the governor’s Office of Information and Technology, the department of state and the department of regulatory agencies to consider Blockchain technology to protect and secure state records, was passed last May 7.

It also encourages other institution such as higher education to include blockchain technologies in their curriculum.

It seems that more and more states are passing positive Blockchain and cryptocurrency legislation indicating a very positive outlook on its adaptation in the US.
