Ripple Announces a New Ripple Gateway Application
To be showcased during the Ripple Inaugural Conference or SWELL, Ripple announced that they will be launching a new Ripple gateway.
SWELL will be held in Toronto, Canada on October 16-18, 2017 where leaders in banking and blockchain who are committed to change the way the world moves money will come together.
The company has been developing and experimenting with the Ripple blockchain integration and started to come up with some test applications leveraging the technology.
Ripple has been gathering data on a goal to understand fully what do the users really need with regards to the software they are developing.
The data includes opinions on what the software should look like and what it should offer for the best user experience.
Ripple targets to launch the initial version of Ripple Exchange for users on October 15, 2017, a day before the Ripple SWELL Conference.
Coinbase Plans to Launched Operation in New Zealand
Local news in New Zealand says that Fred Ehrsam, co-founder of Coinbase will be meeting with New Zealand financial regulators to discuss possible launching operations in the country.
Ehrsam's visit is part of Edmund Hillary Fellowship together with 23 other entrepreneurs and he will be having a private meeting the country's reserve bank to discuss blockchain and cryptocurrencies.
He told the media that he wanted to create a regulatory system for cryptocurrencies that is aligned to societal values especially in the need of balancing the confidence of entrepreneurs and investors with developing a legislative setup which is complementary to every nation's values.
He has a great desire to start operating in New Zealand but he also wants to have a much more clarity when it comes to regulations before it could happen.
Ehrsam expects this meeting to be a learning process to both of New Zealand and Coinbase.
Russia to Add Cryptocurrencies to the Population's Financial Literacy Strategy
Awareness in cryptocurrencies is currently increasing in Russia, even among children.
Russia's Ministry of Finance has recently proposed to add Cryptocurrencies to the financial literacy strategy of the country.
According to the Minister of Finance Anton Siluanov, Cryptocurrency today is a needed topic to be included in the strategy of growing the financial literacy of Russians.
At a recent Russian competition entitled “Digital Economy: Generation Z”, children from 11 to 17 years old were competing in answering questions about cryptocurrencies, blockchains, chatbots and biometrics.
The competition showed that even school children in Russia are currently aware and even invest in cryptocurrencies.
Also, five major Russian universities just recently offer Cryptocurrency Courses.
