Slovenia To Position As The Most Recognized Blockchain Hub In The European Union
Recently at the Digital Slovenia 2020 conference, Miro Cerar, Slovenia's Prime Minister, spake about the benefits of the blockchain technology.
He stated that Slovenia is a well-recognized player in the world and the government plans to position the country as the most recognized blockchain destination in the European Union.
He also revealed that the country's regulatory agencies and ministries currently looking at administrative applications for blockchain technology.
As part of Slovenian Digital Coalition, a government-backed “blockchain think tank” was announced this October 3 which will serve as point-of-contact between blockchain developers, industry players and the government itself.
The Think Tank will also coordinate with several companies in creating educational tools on blockchain technology.
Islamic Development Bank of Saudi Arabia Plans A Blockchain-powered Financial Project
Recently, the Islamic Research and Training Institute is currently looking at creating platforms that compliant to sharia through joint ventures with Belgium-based SettleMint and Ateon.
Islamic finance follows religious principles including gambling ban and outright speculation.
The Islamic Development Bank (IDB) announced recently that they will be using Blockchain-based platforms to serve the Muslim customers.
The move IDB made will also encourage other Fintech firms to integrate Islamic finance to serve markets in the Middle East, Africa and Asia.
