Segwit2x Project Lead & BitGo Chief Executive Says Things are Looking Good for Bitcoin Fork
Despite assertion within the Bitcoin community regarding the block size debate, “things are looking good” says Mike Belshe, Chief Executive of BitGo and project lead of the Segwit2x.
Belshe is optimistic regarding the prospects for the Segwit2x blockchain following the fork.
In his blog published on Wednesday entitled “Keeping the Community Together”, he said that Segwit2x is a minimal, surgical fix to address the issue of scalability.
He added that while there is a rage of debates going on with the process and politics, we can keep the community together and increase the blocksize.
He also stated that despite of not being not sure about hoe things will happen in November, things are looking good and we will all benefit with this simple change.
MIT Implemented Bitcoin Blockchain To Issue The First Digital Diplomas
Recently, the Massachusetts Institute of Technology (MIT) has issued the first digital diplomas using the blockchain technology.
The diplomas were given to over 100 graduates as part of its pilot program which is in collaboration with Learning machine, a software firm which jointly developed the Blockcerts open standard introduced in 2016.
The digital diplomas were issued through a special app where graduates can share a “verifiable” and “tamper proof” digital version of their diploma to prospective employers and other parties.
This project's objective is to empower the students to be the conservator of their own credentials.
The developers used the immutable and public Bitcoin blockchain network for the certificates or credentials as it does not require high flexibility and large number of data points to process.
Therefore, these diplomas are embedded to Bitcoin transactions which are sent to the public blockchain immediately.
