It’s a crystal with very high protection powers. Till date most of the people with who I have interacted on crystals have confessed that Amethyst has been the first ever crystal in their life. One reason I can see to this is that its a very common and very easily available crystal, and the other is its natural abilities of healing which attracts anyone who sees it. Well for me it was my second crystal, first being Turquoise 🙂
Amethyst is a very gorgeous and a very sensitive crystal, with its amazing tranquilizing properties it helps us with the balancing of emotional high and lows. It can also assist us in getting out of the state of illusion and into the state of reality.
In the olden days the Chinese used it a lot in the form of neck wear jewelry, The Tibetans made prayer beads of this crystal since they considered it to be a sacred crystal of Buddha....
This Crystal has a very interesting folklore. Bacchus the Divine Greek God of wine was once angered by the lower energy mortals, In anger he made a vow that he would give a violent tiger death to the very next mortal he would come across. At the same time a very pretty girl name Amethyst was to cross his path and the first one he would encounter, so Goddess of nature and hunt Diana gave a protection to Amethyst by turning her into a clear crystal quartz that she could be saved from Bacchus wrath. Bacchus realized his mistake and poured wine over Amethyst in regret, however he did not pour enough to cover Amethyst completely and hence the purple color of Amethyst crystal has so much of color variation and uneven. Since the crystal was anointed with wine it is also believed to be a crystal for sobriety.
Amethyst color fades in the sun and becomes light, so when someone uses it regularly and it fades there is nothing to worry about. In the olden times people preferred to lighten it up and wear and so they kept the crystal for few days in sunlight for it to fade, but now it is reverse, the more darker shade is preferred in jewelry.
Amethyst is a great healer for mind, body and Spirit. It’s an amazing crystal for balancing energies and also raise psychic awareness and develop intuitive abilities. It’s also very good for people in the communication field.
Brazilian Amethyst are very famous. Amethyst is a crystal which is very easily available and every single crystal shop will have it. Since it’s easily available and not very expensive there are very less chances of getting a duplicate one.
At a physical level this crystal helps in balancing hormones and regulate the immune and metabolic systems. Should be used for depression and psychic attacks.
It is also believed that a man can wear it to attract a woman to him, i have never got a chance to validate this part of it :-)
A very good crystal to be used in meditation. Amethyst properties helps it to be used for Crown, Third eye and Throat Chakra. People who are in healing work will always want to have this crystal around since it is a very good energy balancer not only for self but even for the space.
If someone has sleep problems, they can keep Amethyst crystal tumbles under the pillow along with rose quartz crystal. Its also good to have one Amethyst Cluster in your living room space. A Crystal for February month, hence good for both Piscines’ and Aquarians.
I called it a master and a universal crystal. It has no side effects, anyone can use it without any fear of any kind of impact and can be used by everyone including children.
