Micah 2
1
Woe to those who plan iniquity,
to those who plot evil on their beds!
At morning’s light they carry it out
because it is in their power to do it.
2
They covet fields and seize them,
and houses, and take them.
They defraud people of their homes,
they rob them of their inheritance.
3 Therefore, the Lord says:
“I am planning disaster against this people,
from which you cannot save yourselves.
You will no longer walk proudly,
for it will be a time of calamity.
4
In that day people will ridicule you;
they will taunt you with this mournful song:
‘We are utterly ruined;
my people’s possession is divided up.
He takes it from me!
He assigns our fields to traitors.’”

Therefore you will have no one in the assembly of the Lord
to divide the land by lot.
Woe to Those Who Plan Iniquity
Micah pronounces doom and misery on the people who were using their power and inflences to take advantage of others in other to reach their own selfish aims.
These were wealthy landowners who either bought or stole farms and houses; they did nor hesitate to cheat and deceive others in other to gain more property. They were consumed with greed that they did not care about the sufferings they caused others.
God had a plan for them: they would be treated just as they had treated others, God would send Assyria to take their land away and carry them into captivity.
Jesus looked at him and said, “How hard it is for the rich to enter the kingdom of God! 25 Indeed, it is easier for a camel to go through the eye of a needle than for someone who is rich to enter the kingdom of God.” Luke 18:24-25
A Lesson to Learn
We must be careful not to become greedy and mistreat others-especially in an effort to get more money or possessions. It is a sin of idolatry to be greedy and to have strong desire to obtain wealth because of the evil and corruption associated with dependence on material possessions which is like serving money.
We must be careful not to sin against God through this which is common among we humans.
In one of these days, I will write an article about "Riches and Poverty". Watch out.
