GREEN SMOOTHIE OF THE DAY | MANGO GINGER IMMUNE BOOSTING GREEN MORNING DRINK 🌞🥒🍋

Happy Sunday Funday y'all! Ready to start a new day? We sure are! Just made this lovely green morning drink chock full of green vegetables, herbs, and sweet mangoes from the garden. Yes mango season is still going on and we have plenty more.

Making a new batch of spicy mango chutney today! But first things first, a green morning drink!

MANGO GINGER IMMUNE BOOSTING GREEN MORNING DRINK 🌞🥒🍋

Today's green drink is packed with an overload of immune-boosting, leafy green goodness to ward off illness. Ginger is a natural antibiotic know to clear sinuses and soothe an upset stomach. Ideal to prevent cold and flu.

Although adding fresh parsley to your morning drink might not be for everyone, we just love it. It tastes green, yes, but give it a try! The sweet mangoes perfectly balance the green taste in this one. And parsley is so good for you! It supports kidney function by flushing out excess fluid from the body. Furthermore, parsley is loaded with vitamin C and K. Only 1/2 cup provides 500% of your daily need of the often overlooked, yet very important, vitamin K. What's more, the volatile oils and flavonoids in parsley work as powerful antioxidants, which may prevent chronic inflammation and tumor growth!

Lemon and parsley are both Vitamin C bombs and we all know how important vitamin C is for keeping our immune systems strong.

Cucumber and celery are very hydrating and contain lots of dietary fiber and natural sodium. Plus they add even more vitamin K to this lovely morning convocation.

INGREDIENTS (SERVES 2 FOR BREAKFAST)

  • 1 cup celery
  • 1 cup fresh parsley
  • 1 small cucumber
  • 1-inch fresh ginger, peeled
  • 3 cups mango
  • 1 lemon, peeled
  • 2 cups water
  • 2 tbsp hemp hearts
  • Optional toppings: goji berries and coconut flakes

FYI: I added some hoemmade cultured coconut yogurt too for an added probiotic effect!

DIRECTIONS

  1. Place parsley and water in a blender. Blend until smooth. Add all other ingredients and blend again. If you have a high -speed blender you can throw everything in at once. If the smoothie is too thick for you at more water.
  2. Optional: top with superfoods like chia seeds, hemp hearts, or goji berries if you like. I used goji berries and coconut flakes this time this time.
