Czech traditional dinner - fried carp with potato salad!

Hello friends,

Christmas is lurking around the corner and with that comes the time of festivities and enjoyment. Every culture and country has different traditions and things to eat during the holiday times. Today I would like to introduce you to a Czech traditional dinner and what comes before that.

It is a tradition over here to have a deep-fried carp coated in egg, flour and bread cramps served with the potato salad. Carp is a traditional fish that is widely available in the Czech Republic and is something that majority of the families will serve for Christmas dinner. For a lot of small kids, those are quite exciting times since the carp is bought alive and then kept in the bathtub for a couple of days before it is prepared for a traditional dinner. I know, you must be thinking those czechs are really weird, lol....

Attached is a nice video made by Prague Morning describing the whole tradition.

Have a great evening and keep on steeming.
