Yes that’s exactly right, I’m telling you that we’re having bacon for dessert! Say What?
It might seem crazy to some people and you’re probably thinking that, for a girl who claims to not like bacon much, I use it a lot. Hey, I live with lots of bacon lovers so it gets included a lot in my crazy schemes even if it’s not my thing.
What I love about bacon is the smell of it in the air, it’s so nostalgic and happy-making to me, but it’s true that I’m not really a bacon eater. Although, when it’s sitting on frosting I find myself reconsidering the whole situation. Oh, and my mom has taught me all my life about the magic of saving and using your bacon grease for yummy things. I don’t understand people that just throw all of that goodness away.
Bacon and maple aren’t necessarily specific to Autumn but I think we can all agree that they definitely fit right in. I think this is a good place to start getting into the mood.
I know it’s harder for some of you then others right now because you might still be in really hot weather. Like, when I was growing up in Tennessee I remember it taking forever to stay crisp and Autumn-y because the agonizingly humid summer was reluctant to hit the road.
You should definitely take a little piece of time to stop and make these bars because, hello, they are amazing! And I don’t even like bacon!
