Okonomiyaki Dohton Bori (3) - Old man's food blog (12) | お好み焼 道とん堀 (三) - 大叔的飲食隨筆 (十二)

Our last dish was Hiroshima-style Okonomiyaki. What made it different from traditional okonomiyaki was the noddle that in between, that make cooking of it much more difficult, at least for me.

當晚最後一道菜就是広島風お好み焼。它最特別的就是當中包含了炒麵,所以烹調的時候要有多一些步驟。

First of all, spread oil over the heated plate. Pour 2 spoons of batter to make a crepe of about a bowl size.

在燒熱了的板上加上油之後,把麵糊塗在上面,形成大約一個碗的大小。

Add ingredients (other than Cabbage and bacon)

Add cabbage and bacon.

然係就是椰菜跟豚肉。

Flip the whole thing over. Now the crepe should be on top.

將整個広島風お好み焼反轉。

At the side, fry the noodle (Yakisoba).

開始在旁邊做炒麵。

When the noodle was ready, what I should do was to put the okonomiyaki on top of the noodle. But as you can see, I did the other round, I put the noodles on top of it!!! Yes, I screwed up.

當準備好炒麵之後,我應該是把広島風お好み焼放在上面,但就如相片所見,我居然把炒麵放在上面!對,我搞砸了。

I then fried the eggs at the side.

我仍繼續在旁邊炒蛋。

I then flipped over the okonomiyaki and put it on top of the eggs.

然後我把它反轉並放在蛋上面。

Put on sauces and sea weeds powders and it was ready to be served.

塗上醬油和紫菜粉就完成了。

Even thought I messed up in between, the final outcome was still acceptable. The only thing that I believed I should have done better was about the time of frying the noodles. I should have fried the noodles longer.

雖然我在中途搞砸了,但成品仍然是在可以接受的水平。在整個過程中,我覺得最需要改進的是炒麵的時間,應該再炒長一點的時間,其他的步驟還是不過不失。

After consumed all the food, we were done with our first self-cooked Okonomiyaki dinner in Hong Kong. To my wife's surprise, the dinner was actually quite nice. So we decided we should try this again in future and the girls were all excited about this too.

我們把所有食物吃掉之後,我們亦完滿的結束了我們第一次的お好み焼自助體驗。根據我太太的評語是:「出乎意料」的不錯。所以我們亦決定一定會再試這餐廳的。當然兩位小女孩亦是滿心興奮,躍躍欲試的。
