Since early December, when the weather started to get cold, my younger daughter kept on having some cough. Even after medication which relieved her cough for almost whole day, she might still cough quite seriously during bedtime. The poor girl became very difficult to fall asleep. One of our friends taught us to give her steamed onion water every night, and this atypical "medicine" did stop her cough after a few night. I would like to share it with you just in case it might help.
打從十二月開始,天氣開始轉冷,我的小女兒就有着咳嗽的問題。雖然看過醫生吃了藥之後,在日間的情況有所好轉,到了晚上睡覺之時,咳嗽又會嚴重起來。令她難以入睡。有朋友介紹了一個偏方,就是蒸洋蔥水。連續給她喝了蒸洋蔥水幾晚後,晚上的咳嗽果然消退了。還真有效。所以我想在這跟大家分享一下。
Here was the demonstration by my friend. First of all, put a bowl upside down on a big plate.
這是朋友做給我的示範。首先,把一個碗反轉放在一個大碟的中間。
Cut an union.
接下來就是把洋蔥切好。
Put the union slices on the plate. Make sure the union slices cover the whole plate and surrounding of the bowl.
把洋蔥平均放在碟上,記緊要把碗包圍着。
Wrap the whole plate with plastic wrap. Again, make sure the plate is completely wrapped and sealed. This is to ensure all onion juice could be collected.
再用保鮮紙包整個碟都包好。這樣做是為了盡量收集洋蔥水。
Put the plate over boiled water, steam it for 30 minutes.
把洋蔥放在開水上蒸30分鐘。
That's it! After 30 minutes, take out the plate, unwrap it. Remove the union slices. Turn the bowl over (with the plate covered, to keep all onion juice in it). You will get less than half bowl of onion juice. If you have tool, you can squeeze more juice from the onion slices. That amount is just enough for one, atmost two persons. My daughters drank this for a week and the night cough of my younger one was cured. Hope this helps you!
就是這樣。30分鐘之後,把洋蔥拿掉,再小心的把碗連碟一起反轉。就會得到大約半碗左右的洋蔥水。如果你有適當的工具,你可以再把蒸過的洋蔥搾汁。每一次的份量只夠一至兩人飲用。希望這個對你們有幫助!
