I love mie Aceh (Aceh noodle). This is most famous food in Aceh Province, Indonsia. Almost all restaurants in Aceh serve this kind of dish. Now you can find it easily in other cities, including Jakarta and Yogyakarta. I take this picture in an Aceh restaurant in Bogor, West Java.

Aceh noodle is a curried spicy noodle. There two basic variations: fried and soupy noodle. Sometimes you can add meat, shrimp or crab. Like other traditional foods in Sumatera, curry is special feature of food.

Mie Aceh Bukan di Aceh

Mie Aceh adalah salah satu masakan favorit saya. Banyak orang yang menggemarinya. Itu sebabnya banyak restoran mie aceh yang tidak di Aceh, seperti di Jakarta dan Yogyakarta.

Tapi, tak semua orang suka. Adik ipar saya orang Padang. Dia sekali mencoba mencicipi mie Aceh dan sampai sekarang tak pernah mau mencobanya lagi. Dia tidak suka. Padahal, dia bisa lahap makan berbagai menu masakan berkuah di rumah makan Padang. Saya tidak tahu mengapa. Saya kira ini soal selera dan selera tidak bisa diperdebatkan.
