5 min Writing Prompt "Mason Jar" #freewrite serial Chapter Twenty Seven

It is with the greatest regret that I apologize, for accusing you of leaving me. I know that you didn't leave, that you were forced away… And as I sit here in this gilded cage that these conspirators have made for me I know that I am wrong, so very wrong to be angry with you...
But angry is what I am. For how could you have let me them do this to us? You were a warrior, don't you remember? A warrior. And without shedding a single drop of blood, these people have managed to take away everything that we had and cast you adrift on the seas of history. And for what? For you to forget who you are and wander the world, aimlessly lost and alone, while I sit here next to your empty throne, mocked by those who won by losing?
And what is there for them in their Pyrrhic victory? No more than the bitter taste of satisfied resentment, turning inwards before my very eyes. I watch as they consume themselves and each other and I know that this is for the best, but all the more I dare not lose hope, that through all of this there will come a day when I will see you regained to your rightful place, to our rightful place, side by side, together.
Return to me, my love. Remember...
Remember who you are

Written in five minutes from the writing prompt, "Mason Jar" as part of the #freewrite exercise. Image is by me as well. You can view the prompt here and check out the other entries; each one is a message in a mason jar sent out across the vast sea of the internet, waiting for that fateful day when you come across it washed up on the shore of your beaches. Thanks to @mariannewest for creating and running this well sealed note to Steemit.
