It was Saturday morning when my sister took the money. I wasn’t sure what she needed it for this time. Seemed it was always something. I was more than tired from supplying her with the money she was always asking for, but I always gave it to her regardless of the reason.

So, this time, I had declined, but obviously, she had kept a close tab on me and finally stolen the money. The guts! I needed that money badly, I could kill her!

I have no idea how I am going to pay my light bill now. The power company wrote me a letter saying today was the last day to pay. My lights will be turned off. The only thing I can do now is find her, and hope that she still has the money. So, with a new determination,

I picked up the phone and began to call her friends one by one. No, they all hadn't seen her. Well by 11pm when she still hadn't shown up, I became frightened. I didn't care about the intended power cut anymore. She was such a louse but… what would I do without her? She’s such a sweet person. I just wanted my sister back.

Beginning to panic, I got in my car again and I went downtown. My sister liked to dance, and I knew all of the dance clubs in the city. I started at the Kerry Dance club, but no one had seen her the entire night

Then I drove madly to the Bayswater, nothing. Where could she be? As I made to drive off again, my phone rang, and… it was her!

“Daisy! Where are you?”

“I went to pay the electric bill this morning, and I ran into an old friend. We started to hang out, and I lost track of time.”

I wanted to throw her off a bridge, but my nerves calmed at least I knew she was safe… wait. Was she safe?

“So, I will come home in the morning," she was saying "only he’s promised to get me some money, I asked you, remember? so maybe I won't yet. I’ll just wait for the money: a day or, maybe 2 or 3. I thought I’ll let you know. I will be fine.

I remembered the app on my phone that showed me where my sister’s phone was located in case we lost each other at the market. I quickly turned it on to be sure I knew where she was. The signal was on the other side of the city. I raced as fast as I could and found her.

She was with ‘this friend’. She looked scared out of her wits and was shocked to see me. It was obvious she was only too glad I had come to get her. Had she played me? I pulled her in an embrace and laughed. “Never do that again, silly.” I imagined how desperate she must be to have done this and the part about paying the electricity bill just didn't click.

“Did you really pay the electricity bill?"
