Robes are an interesting concept that can have multiple meanings. For example, a robe is something you wear, typically before or after a shower or when you are lounging around your house. The fabric is cotton or terricloth and is super soft to the skin.
Robes lower my guard.
Robes reduce my stress levels, much like sweatpants or hoddies.
The fabric is what produces the tranquil vibe.
Robes are great for drinking coffee or reading the morning newspaper.
Robes are what I wear before I get my day started. When you first wake up from a night of slumber, sometimes, it takes me awhile for my brain to start running on all cylinders.
Robes help me get into that “pre-game” mode.
A robe, while a garment to be worn around the house, can also be a mental defense that is used to get yourself motivated. Wizards put on their robes before engaging in sorcery or epic battles. Robes, like security blankets with toddlers, are a comfort item that keeps one tranquil and calm.
Wearing a robe isn’t necessarily about the clothing item, a fashion statement or some other materialistic ego-driven vibe. Sometimes, a robe is about mental preparedness and admitting the humility that one has in life.
For me, a robe is so much more than something you wear around the house. Like the thousands of styles of robes that exist, there are an equally number of moods and ideas about what a robe can mean.
