How Sndbox Will Use Delegation Power - A Request

170821_Diagrams-02.png

Sndbox is a global incubator project striving to integrate STEEM and other blockchain resources into creative, organizational and entrepreneurial efforts.

Today, we will make a case for why we are requesting delegation power and how we would potentially use the support to achieve Steemit-oriented goals. We believe that delegation support will accelerate our programming and impact in real-world communities. In this post we will outline how we will effectively support goals of the community with both upvote power and Sndbox engagement.

Focusing Power

Currently, delegation power is used in diverse ways - to support account growth and promote “influencers” on Steemit, nurture curatorial activities, empower quality control and combat Steemit abuse, assign community-driven responsibilities, and so forth. For sndbox - delegation power is a sustainable method to kickstart a business and accelerate the Steemit platform towards high-impact creative-professionals and organizations.

As we saw in the STEEM Park project ( @hitheryon ), an upvote is not only financial support, it is ultimately validation and support of an initiative. By being responsible with a certain amount of structured voting power, we can drive the growth of creative, social, and innovative initiatives beyond the natural hype within the Steemit community of the latest hot idea. An example of this is how Sndbox brought onboard @mintvilla after the success of the STEEM Park project. Her active participation in Steemit with Sndbox will allow the initial project to continuously expand in scope and impact. By targeting our planned upvote and community system, we’ve already achieved high retention rates, active usership, and long-term planning on how to use Steemit accounts with purpose.

Last week, we explained our plan to finance Sndbox through memberships. Delegation would allow us to focus less on membership fees for more socially-driven initiatives such as working with universities, museums, foundations, community groups, and social accelerator hubs like @STACH.

Our Goals

We want @Sndbox to be the Curie / Steemcleaners / Guild equivalent for physical, community-oriented and impact-driven projects. Our goals include -

  • Create Steemit resources (example here).
  • Fund creative growth and impact projects (like STACH and STEEM Park).
  • Grow a global network of creative professionals.
  • Integrate Steemit as a resource for creative professionals and organizations.
  • Develop a precedent for kickstarting a business on the STEEM blockchain.

Voting Guidelines

The @sndbox collective vote (which includes all of the incubator participants) will be reserved for the support of Incubator members as well as all Steemians with similar community impact + creative missions in mind.

^Who?
+100%Sndbox Incubator Members
+50%High-impact physical projects / initiatives (Example: STEEM Park or STACH)
+20%New Steemians (under the introduceyourself tag with strong content related to creative or entrepreneurial practices)

We also want to make sure that abuse of the vote does not occur internally and is not used for purposes other than our core mission of impact oriented content. @Sndbox will not vote on content from personal accounts @voronoi and @hansikhouse. We will also not vote on member posts that fail to meet quality standards we aim to uphold.

Our Vision

For us, delegation is not only a method to fast-track our mission to provide resources and onboard professionally-driven Steemit users, but also systematizes focused support for high impact projects and users within the Steemit community (much like STEEM Park). Our plan includes paths of entry to joining and engaging with Sndbox and Sndbox projects that we believe will be a benchmark in supporting long-term growth.

Our mission provides Steemit with a strategy to bring on new users with a purpose. Over the last three weeks of testing our community and resources, we’ve been able to bring on professors, architects, historians, designers, and community leaders that have adopted Steemit as their primary outreach, documentative, and fundraising mechanism. This has already led to long-term goals of how Steemit is the vehicle to achieve large-scale projects.

What if I Don’t Have Power to Give?

We encourage all Steemians to engage, comment, follow and curate. Look for our weekly “Upvotes of Week” posts, where we outline weekly content and projects by both Sndbox members and Steemians with creative impact in mind. (Take a look here). Also, consider joining our curation trail. Every vote and every bit of support helps tremendously as we move forward.
