Bible Verse of the Day #9; Guarding The Lips

Hello Steemians,
There is power on our tongue. In it, there brings life and death. We must be careful at all times of what we say.

Proverb 13:3

He who guards his lips guards his life, but he who speaks rashly will come to ruin.

Guarding the Lips

Careless and uncontrolled speech can weaken or destroy any positive influence we might have on other. It can also contribute to sin in our own lives and seriously affect our relationship with God.

6 Do not let your mouth lead you into sin. And do not protest to the temple messenger, “My vow was a mistake.” Why should God be angry at what you say and destroy the work of your hands? 7 Much dreaming and many words are meaningless. Therefore fear God. - Ecclesiastes 5:6-7

A godly person will be careful to control his or her speech and conversations (Proverb 8:6-8, James3:2) so that his or her words honor and please God. The Bible encourages us to ask God for help in controlling our tongues (Psalm 141:3)
