Hello Friends,
This is the final part of this series " The Attribute Of God". I hope you have been enjoying it. I will be bringing another series pertaining to the word of God and i hope you will follow it just like you did with this one.
Deuteronomy 32:4
He is the Rock, his works are perfect,
and all his ways are just.
A faithful God who does no wrong,
upright and just is he.
God Is Just
Finally, God is just (1John 1:9). This means that God keeps in balance the moral order of the universe and is totally right in the way He treats and deals with humankind (Nehemiah 9:33; Daniel 9:14). God's perfect justice is the reason He cannot look away and excuse sin. Sin is "lawlessness" toward God (1John 3:4) and so completely opposed to His perfect nature that it requires the most extreme penalty: death (Roman 5:12). It is a penalty that humankind has earned, and it must be paid. But God Himself mercifully chose to provide the perfect payment for that penalty through His Son, Jesus. Jesus now provides forgiveness and spiritual freedom for those who trust Him (Genesis 2:16-17).
5 But if our unrighteousness brings out God’s righteousness more clearly, what shall we say? That God is unjust in bringing his wrath on us? (I am using a human argument.) 6 Certainly not! If that were so, how could God judge the world? - Romans 3:5-6
God's Perfect Love
Still, God is angry at sin because of His love for righteousness (Roman 3:5-6). In the end, He will also show His wrath (i.e., His justified anger, punishment, judgement) against every form of wickedness (Romans 1:18), especially idolatry (which involves worshiping or giving priority to anything in place of God, 1King 14:9, 15, 22), unbelief (Psalm 78:21-22; John 3:36) and unjust treatment of other people (Isaiah 10:1-4). Jesus Christ, who is called the "Righteous One" (Act 7:52; 22:14), also loves righteousness and hate evil. Keep in mind that God's justice does not contradict His love. In fact, it was to satisfy His perfect justice that He sent Jesus into the world as His perfect gift of love (John 3:16; 1John 4:9-10) and has His sacrifice for sin on our behalf (Isaiah 53:5-6). His acts of justice and love (working together) provided the only way to restore us to a right relationship with God.
God's final and complete revelation of Himself is through His Son, Jesus Christ (John 1:18; Hebrew 1:1-4), and His word (John 1:1, 14, which describe Jesus as the living word of God). That is to say, if we want to fully understand the "personality", character and nature of God, we must look at what the word of God reveals about Jesus because "in Christ all the fullness of the Deity lives" (Collosians 2:9)
Thanks for reading.
God bless you.
