People who are experimenting with new experiences can handle information of any kind in different and unique ways using different ideas. This explains why they tend to be particularly creative.
The openness to new experiences is one of the 5 most frequently used traits to describe personality. And is characterized by curiosity and creativity and interest in exploring new things. Open-minded people perform the tasks that are designed to test the ability to reach creative ideas very well. Such as imagining new uses for everyday things such as bricks, cups and table tennis balls.
There is some evidence that the most open people also have better visual awareness. For example when you focus on the animated characters on the screen it is likely to notice a gray box appears elsewhere on the screen.
Anna Antinori of Melbourne University in Australia is working on finding evidence that tells us more about brains that are creative. They can see more and more possibilities in everything as information passes through flexible portals that handle information more consciously.
Mixed cognition:
Antonori and her team asked 123 college students to complete the competition test between the eyes, where they simultaneously saw a red picture with one eye and a green image with the other eye for two minutes.
Usually, the brain can only look at one picture at a time. Most participants reported seeing only one image, either red or green, but some participants saw two images of a mixture of red and green.
The more open and creative people were found to be more likely to have mixed cognitions.
In contrast, other features, such as extinctions, nervousness, and conscience, are not included in their mixed cognition.
Expansion of Mind:
It can be explained that people who have a great degree of openness are more inclined to creativity and innovation. Antinori says that when they come up with new uses for things like bricks it may be because they know the world differently.
Nico Teliopoulos at the University of Sydney in Australia said the results also indicate why people who are most open are prone to paranoia and delusions. At those levels of openness, people may see reality as a different reality. For example, they may see lives or misinterpret personal relationships Or other signals.
The team also found that some forms of meditation could increase the perception of a mixed image in a competing microscope test.
The team is now working on developing research to see if neural processes are involved in mixed cognition, creative thinking, and transformations in visual perception caused by dyspepsia and meditation.
