Tools To Help Making Your First Steps Count on Steemit
As a new member to Steemit, I'd like to shed some light on an invaluable group here in the community. It's called the Minnow Support Project (MSP) and they are the number one support group here on the platform. I was lucky enough to be snagged up since the first day by @InquiringTimes who has been a mentor and provided guidance on how to get started here.
I've had the opportunity to join MSP and met some really great people via their Peace, Abundance, Leadership (PALnet) channel on Discord. Steemit can be very intimidating for a new comer and because of the help I've received over the last week, I feel way ahead of the curve.
If you're not a part of this amazing network, I will highlight here some articles that have been published recently on how to get started. Trust me, you need to do this if you haven't already, especially if you have struggled to find your footing here on Steemit.
How To Get Started
#1. Go over to Minnow Support Project and read what they are all about. Here, you'll find their Mission Statement, Plan, and Membership information. You won't be disappointed, I promise!
#2. Sign up for Discord and follow this guide by @juliakponsford:
#3. As I mentioned above, you'll want to sign up for Discord. Discord has the ability to assign a bot to your account which can help add value to your posts early on when you don't have a lot of followers. @discordiant wrote this guide on how to get the bots working if you would prefer one that isn't in a comic style:
#4. As a bonus, check this article about how to write high quality comments by @inquiringtimes. Commenting is an art and if not done correctly, you won't get valuable followers and up-votes. Follow these steps to be successful.
Steemit is a huge community and it is easy to get lost in the shuffle. Lucky for us new minnows, the Minnow Support Project is THE community within the community that is here to ensure you have a great shot at success.
Thanks to @InquiringTimes for helping me get this article up and teaching me how to steem!
