Happy Birthday. Again? Technically, Saturday was also my birthday according to the Chinese lunar calendar which is used to follow major festivals and calendar. Really, this post is about a dinner we had on Friday night to celebrate my grand uncle's 80th birthday.


The restaurant is located within the vicinity of a club that has a long history. According to the club's official website http://www.chuihuaylimclub.com/:
Established since 1845, Chui Huay Lim Club has a rich history of more than 170 years. It was originally setup for Teochew businessmen to engage in business networking and recreational activities.

生日快乐。 又来?实际上,根据农历星期六可真的是我的生日但这次的星期五晚宴是为了庆祝一位老前辈的80大寿。
该餐馆位于一个有悠久历史的俱乐部。根据官方网站http://www.chuihuaylimclub.com/: 醉花林俱乐部创立于1845年,至今已超过170年的历史。原旨在为潮商提供一消闲处所,敦睦乡谊,共谋进展。

This was the birthday cake we had at the end of the dinner. So nicely crafted that I thought it deserved to be the first picture in this post.
这是当天的生日蛋糕。是晚宴结束前的重头戏。这么美的创作使我不把这照片列为主角。

The restaurant has rather huge general seating area with tanks where live seafood kept and a big collection of wine.
餐馆里坐位很多也有养着活海鲜的缸和很多款酒任君选择。

We had a private room with 5 tables. In the room, there are also karaoke equipment so there were some bit of self entertainment throughout the dinner.
我们包了间厢房。里面摆五桌,也有卡拉OK设备所以有整晚都有自己人献丑自我娱乐一番。
