This post is to share the photos I took during night photo shooting in Chinatown after the cock or rooster (whatever you prefer) decorations are set up and the streets around the area are closed for the new year market to operate. If you are not from Singapore, Chinatown is place you must visit when you travel to Singapore even when not during the Chinese New Year.

这帖就是分享我在夜间到牛车水（新加坡的唐人街) 拍摄新年装饰和年货市场的情形。那里的街道都封了摆摊做年货市场。如果你从外地到新加坡，牛车水该是一定要去的景点。

Today is the second day of the Lunar New Year also very often referred to as Chinese New Year. So, let me wish everyone a “Happy New Year!”.

首先，今天大年初二，先跟大家拜个年。

Look at how tall, the cock stands at night. Also, look at the decorations further on the road.

晚上好，看看公鸡有多高。继续在路上也有很多装饰。

The night crowd is always more than the day crowd.

晚上出来逛的人总是比白天多。

Bak Kwa is barbecue sliced park which is must have for many during the Chinese New Year. The queue for the famous Lim Chee Guan starts early every year.

很多人都喜欢在过年期间买肉干回家或送礼。这家署名的林志源每年都提早排长龙。

Bee Cheng Hiang has more stalls throughout the country and 2 in Chinatown.

美真香在全国开很多间。在牛车水就有两间。

Fragrance also operate many stalls but usually is not as crowded,

香字肉干通常比较少人。

There are stalls selling melon seeds, nuts and different new year snacks.

有很多摊位买的是瓜子，花生和各类新年糕饼。

Every year, there are a couple of stalls selling waxed meat or preserved meat. Maybe, it’s more understable if I explained it as some kind of cured meat.

每年总有至少两个摊位卖腊味。

This is another stall.

这是另一摊腊味。

If you are tired, there are places for dinner nearby. Be prepared to queue if you come late for dinner.

累了可以找个地方吃晚餐。晚了就要排队。

There’s a shop selling some kind of flutes.

有个摊位在买陶笛。

There are shops selling souvenirs year round and some of them also deals in Chinese New Year decorations but this one does not. So, it’s not crowded.

卖纪念品的店也不少。有些也会卖新年装饰品但这家没有所以也没多少顾客。

Lots of decorations you can buy. I had more time compared to when I was shooting in the day. Besides, the day tends to be warmer which is probably why the crowd is bigger at night. So, I had more time to shoot the decorations in details.
