Plant haul, baby chicks, and busy days

Colour inspiration from my garden for future paintings and design.

It's easy to draw inspiration from nature and my garden. And this area I played a lot with yellows/pinks/purple blues.
Here is a wild native poppy that grows on our beach and it seeded itself here last year and I have nurtured in since. Giving it pride of place when I built our little porch.

I planted my liatrus in this border, which I started from bulbs in the Winter inside to stave off the Winter blues, and it's vining up through the wild poppy and getting ready to burst into luscious purple pink.

My succulents are all doing well and this amazing flower cluster has been gracing this stalk of this one for days.

I think it is a version of a semper vivans, but not certain. I'd have to check my garden journal.

The bees have been out in droves and I have a lot of lavender in this hot bit of the garden and they love it. This pot on the terrace is always filled with them.

I will post later this week about this fun haul I got yesterday. As a reward to myself after doing the change over on my rental cottages I often stop on the way home at a garden center to get some more treats. Look at these lovelies. They are destined for some pot arrangements.

Gardening to me is like painting with flowers and leaf.

My darling mama hen is still happily rearing her babies. She began taking them outdoors a few days ago. Here is some video of that. It isn't very good, as I have to take it from the top, as she is in a small run. I want her in a smaller space seperate from the other's, so she can focus on rearing these little guys.

I keep trying to get photos of her at night with her babies, but the light isn't good in their house so they look a bit spooky with the light in their eyes, but how adorable that they all snuggle under mum?

The little black and yellow one in the front in my favourite, she is the friendliest and always chooses to eat from my finger.

And on that sweet note I shall bid you adieu for now.

As I compared our Steemit to a fun friendly village, let me say that today I am busy with my cottages and studio, so I won't be around for a gossip over the fence, but hope to see you all round town.
