I would like to share with you today a very easy, but also very powerful technique to boost your positivity:
π·π· JUST DO AT LEAST 1 POSITIVE GESTURE PER DAY. π·π·
What does it mean "A POSITIVE GESTURE"? >>> A positive gesture is an act of kindness.
But I will not make you read long definitions and explanations....
Here below 20 examples of simple positive gestures which you can easily do.
- in public transport, leave your seat for another person
- help the mum to get the stroller into the bus
- wish a good day to a stranger
- help the elderly lady to cross the street
- help the man in the wheelchair
- guide the blind person to his destination
- carry the luggage or shopping bag of someone
- tell the cashier in the grocery that she radiates happiness
- give a compliment to someone (attitude, appearance, haircut, ...)
- give a massage to your partner
- offer some flowers to your mom
- bake a cake for your neighbours
- craft a greeting card and send it to a loved one
- pick up a piece of rubbish on the street and throw it in the bin
- mow the grass at your parent's
- shovel the snow or pick up the leaves of your neighbour
- play a game with your kids
- be available to listen to a sad colleague
- take care of your sister's kids for an evening
- write a testimonial about a Steemian
In case you are not used to do any of these type of gestures, it might feel strange to you, but rapidly you will discover how good you will feel when you've done something good for someone or for society. If you do it as a spontaneous act (not planned in advance), it's even more beneficial.
Try it out during one month : do at least one of these gestures per day, maybe you'll become addicted, who knows?
This article is not based on any reasearch, but purely inspired by my own experience.
One of my favourite positive gestures is to wish a good day to strangers when leaving a public transport. Let me explain why : often in public transports, people are alone, look rather sad, and are waiting that the time passes. When I have been sitting near a group of individuals, and I stand up to leave the bus or the train, and wish my "neighbours" a nice day, by telling it in a full sentence and looking at them with a smile, it's just great to see the reactions: First they don't understand what just happened, but then slowly they realize and a big smile appears in the faces. That's the moment I like :)
What about you? Which are your favourite positive gestures that you practice? Which one would you like to try out?
Looking forward to discover more ideas!
