In all my years involved in educating people about different ways of thinking and behaviour, nothing I've ever seen comes close to the actual real world achievements of the STEEM blockchain.
Dear Steemy friends, even though I'm one of the core #promo-steem team with my friends and colleagues @starkerz and @stephenkendal, we all feel that it's important that we continue to lead by example, and this is why we are making this application, because we don't want to appoint ourselves, we want the community to approve us Steem-Ambassadors, in a fair and transparent way, along with some of the other great promoters out there!

A little about me and my philosophy
For over 10 years now, I have been public speaking, educating, mentoring and training, most notably to business leaders, but also in Universities, Charitable foundations and larger organisations. I've worked with young offenders, the unemployed, addicts, students, startups and established businesses, and always with the focus on helping them to think about the world in a different way.
For me, giving back has always been part of my personal philosophy, and I've tried many ways to make a difference, from volunteering on a Meals on Wheels programme, to developing a unique open source project which could keep people alive in disaster areas, or those who are suffering through homelessness or forced evacuation of their homes.
All of which have had some limited success, but there is an old saying about teaching a man to fish and he can feed his family for a lifetime. And that for me is what the STEEM blockchain has provided.
I have never found anything so potentially powerful at creating value in ordinary people's lives as this place. It's truly magnificent, even though it's still in it's early BETA phase. I'm watching communities in developing nations start to transform what they do as a result of the STEEM blockchain, and since the launch of the #promo-steem tag late last year, the growth has been staggering.
So much so that it has inspired me to be not only a Steem Ambassador in name, but also one in deed, and this is why I am asking the community to support me as we take this project forward. I have been encouraging people for years to follow their heart and dreams, with unlimited creativity, passion and integrity, and finally, I have found something that I believe in so much that I have chosen to focus my efforts on being a full time professional promoter of the STEEM blockchain by the middle of 2018. And with your help, I will be.
Previous promotional experience
As someone who hasn't had a proper job for the best part of the last 20 years, I have had to be my own promoter. I have mostly shunned Social Media advertising as a form of generating clients, preferring instead to be a meet-and-greet kind of guy, one who simply goes and makes a bit of a noise, and gets some interest by virtue of being a bit different and slightly eccentric. People love that. Especially us Brits, who don't necessarily always want to rock the boat, but don't mind cheering on someone else who's doing it!
Achievements so far
As you will probably know, I was there pretty much right at the beginning when @stephenkendal started putting the idea of promoting Steemit out there. We have taken this idea from inception, and run with it, creating the #promo-steem tag late last year, and watching it explode into the top 100 tags of all time by payout, posts and comments, and it's meteoric rise as one of the top 5 growing tags of 2018. Prior to this, I had been promoting the idea of Blockchain technology through videos (such as this one and this one), and talking about how the Blockchain could revolutionise the world in Business talks. For example, in a public debate on Brexit back in June 2016, I argued that Blockchain tech was a solution to many of the governance challenges that the world was facing.
I participated in the PROMO-UK UNIVERSITY TOUR last year, and spent time going around promoting on the streets and in the unversity refectories with @starkerz and a few other top guys.
I built the promo-steem.com website, which whilst still in it's pre-launch BETA phase, is going to be one of the tools by which we support promoters from all around the world. Matt @starkerz provided most of the wordy content whilst I put it together, and although this launch was just to ask the community if they wanted it to be continued (they did) the next version will be all bells and whistles. When we launched this, it went straight to the number 1 top of trending spot! (see link here)

I put together the promo-steem discord channel, which is now being run by the incredible, tireless @futurethinker, and managed to embed it on the promo-steem.com website too! Thanks titan!
Last year, I put together the @minnowmentor account, and spent a great deal of time helping newbies by reviewing their posts and mentoring them. I'm pleased to say that some of the people I helped out when they were brand new have gone on to be some really serious Steemers! I have now closed this down, mainly because of time, and I now recommend that newbies go and find the promo-mentors channel on Discord.

I designed the latest version of the #promo-steem Logo:
. We decided to flip the Steemy bits to make it look more like an M than three S's!Finally, and not least, I spent a great deal of my time curating on promoters posts. I do try every day to seek out promoters deserving of support, and have been upvoting, commenting and giving my thoughts on how to do more to them. I personally tend to focus on promoters from the developing world, and it's wonderful to see how well they are progressing, and knowing that my efforts are going some small way to changing lives, which is part of my personal philosophy.
Why I promote STEEM and Steemit
I promote STEEM because I see the good that it's doing in the world. I love the fact that my legacy and my words are being recorded in the blockchain forever. I love that I'm involved in something that I genuinely see is going to redistribute wealth to some of the poorest places on the planet. I love the fact that the bankers can't touch it!
More importantly, I regard the STEEM blockchain as a piece of engineering so clever that it really can alter economics for good. @ned and @dan and the team behind the Steemit platform have created something which is essentially an evolving entity. It's not perfect. It's going to take time to develop. But it's potential is vast, and I want to be part of that, a spokesperson, an Ambassador if you like, for it!
Future plans as a STEEM ambassador
I am technical project lead developing our new guild upvoting system, designed to create a multi-proof of brain curating tool which rewards great promoters. I came up with the concept, and have created the technical flow, and with the help of a couple of top level developers, we will be implementing this in the next few months.
I have just announced a tour with the incredible @dannyshine around the UK, where we will be disrupting public spaces with the STEEM message...and of course filming it for your amusement! Link here
I have been in touch with a number of Universities in the UK to offer my services as an external speaker on real world applications of the Blockchain. Guess which one I'm focussing on!!! These will be rolling out this year.
I will be speaking at the London Cryptocurrency Show in April, with @starkerz, @stephenkendal and @allasyummyfood, being a keynote speaker, as well as moderating a panel for Q+A's from a live audience. We have managed to get ourselves to be Media Partners at this event, so we will have a huge presence for STEEM here.
We are setting up Steemfairs, which we hope to be able to show people how to roll out across the world. These are designed to create both awareness of STEEM/Steemit, and allow Steemians to promote and sell their goods and services...obviously for STEEM/SBD (and maybe fiat too).
I would like to do a tour of Africa and go and visit some of the incredible Steemers I have met on here. If the community wishes it, it will be so.
I want to help #promo-steem into the top 20 tags of all time, and be able to show millions of dollars of wealth being distributed to some of the poorest nations on the planet.
For me, the key is building the worlds first decentralised, voluntaryist, marketing department, one which is so powerful it can make anything trend on any other social media network!
I will be speaking at so many events, on podcasts, TV shows, business conferences and even want to get into the mainstream media talking about STEEM.
I want to dump my bank account altogether, and move to 100% crypto by the middle of this year.
I want to be involved in creating new FREE services on the Steem blockchain. I will be making more posts about this later in the year!
I wish to deploy a promo-steem witness server, which uses it's earned rewards to pump directly back into promotional activities. This will be something we do a bit down the line when we have proved how powerful this community of voluntaryists really is.
Finally, I will not stop curating and supporting promoters from all around the world, particularly in developing nations, or countries where people have been affected by the evil banksters wars.
So that's it. My application for @steem-ambassador. I ask the community to support me, because basically, I will put my heart and soul into this!
