Join the #ShoutOutSaturdays movement!
@crazybgadventure created a fantastic new project #shoutoutsaturdays.
This is all about meeting new people on Steemit and bringing communities together! Communication and networking are crucial to a thriving steemit blog and what better way to solidify a new connect than by raving about how cool they are and how much you've enjoyed meeting them!
If you haven't seen the posts around check out @crazybgadventure's post The Purpose of the ShoutOutSaturdays tag
Since I've got A LOT going on here on Steemit I have committed to this project but on a Monthly Basis instead of weekly - I will still highlight 3 new members that I have recently met on here. No harm if this doesn't put me in the running for the contest - I think it's still a great premise and what's better than recognizing the new people you connect with on here?
If you ARE interested in being a part of @crazybgadnventure's weekly contest here are the rules - but but sure to check out the orinigal post! (link above)
Rules
You need to meet and engage with three people you have not spoken to before, you need to engage with them as much as you can this week.
- Create a post shouting out about who you met and why they are so awesome, and put in the following two tags shoutoutsaturdays and steemitcommentchallenge.
- Post you link below this post with your contest entry.
- Only one entry per person please, any additional entries will not be accounted for.
- Only posts included in the comments will be considered.
- The key word in this is Saturday so wait till Saturday to post it, remember we are doing this as a group so if you post up before your post will not count.
My New Friends!
1. @Article61 aka PeaceSeekingMissle
I just bumped into @article61 recently when he entered my #MinnowMondays challenge on friendship last week. He wrote a crazy/fun post about acid trips in his teens and I was immediately a fan! He also wrote an awesome poem about his daughter which showed me the versatility of his writing. He showed interest in the #newbieresteemday initiative and we chatted a bit on discord. I can tell he is doing big things on here and I'm so happy to have made a new friend! We've had a ton of nice comment conversations and he even took the time out to listen to my newest dsound experiment!
Please head over to his blog and check out all his amazing work in music, poetry, politics and more!
His latest project: @simgirl & @snook Bad Karaoke Challenge Week 1 - Chaka Demus & Pliers(Also includes other entries) So head over and give his song a listen and an upvote!
2. @sultnpapper
I was actually referred to this blog by my good friend @bifilarcoil who saw similarities between @sultnpapper's post Why is it that so many people are in prison in the USA? I’m glad you asked My interest was peaked with this one blog. I liked the upfront, no BS style of his writing. I left a nice comment comparing my recent Prison Industrial Series article and he kindly replied he had actually read it and wanted to chat more. We had a lengthy, exciting conversation and he offered me a ton of priceless judicial advice - which I am so grateful for!
He writes a Daily Dose of Sultnpapper each and every day so head over to his blog and check out what he's writing about today!
His latest dose:So there are some low flying helicopters … big deal.
3.@magicalmoonlight
I just saw you included me in your first #shououtsaturday post! since I started this the other day I figured I'd leave you in mine! Hey, synchronicity is a beautiful thing :-)
I officially met @magicalmoonlight when she DM'ed me and kindly asked if she could do her #newbieresteemday post on Monday's along side my #MinnowMondays post. I thought it was such a nice thing to do. She now puts out Magical Monday's which is a must read for anyone who wants to know what has been happening in the #newbieresteemday world over the passed week! She found interest in my Tarot Tuesdays posts and I even got to do a personal reading via discord for her. She is a wonderful new addition to the Newbie Resteem Day Initiative and now I'm even seeing her in a bunch of other awesome communities across Steemit!
She wrote an exceptional post on the value of Steemit here in Steemit Is More Than Just Money and a great post about women, Here's To Strong Women!. Both of these posts are still live so be sure to head over there and give her an upvote!
Oldies but Goodies
In light of the spirit of this new project I wanted to quickly thank 3 Steemians that are not new connections for me but I value our friendship very much!
I have met so many amazing people on here and I plan to do one of these sections at the bottom of each and every Shout out Saturday post
@lynncoyle1 you are an amazing woman is real life and such a kind spirit here on the platform. I am so glad we have you on our team and a part of the ABC's of Curation. Your comments always put a smile on my face! If you haven't had the chance to meet @lynncoyle1 yet check out here Love it or Shove It post to learn all about her!
@simon62 speaking of comments putting a smile on my face - I can't begin to list the amount of interesting new things I've learn thanks to you! I love how I get to chat, learn from and get to know someone literally on the other side of the world from me - it is so cool. So much respect to you for your mission to spread the old school knowledge. And on the topic of old school knowledge - if you're into crystals check out his post on Lithotherapy.
@tryskele is kind of a newer connection for me but I value your support so much! You have written so many kind comments on my posts and take part in my challenges - I appreciate it all and wanted to say thank you I do notice your votes and resteems - you're doing a great job! Everyone should head over and learn about the Freedom Challenge going on right now!
