Firstly, I want to make clear that I am not a seasoned player, and I move up and down the Silver and Gold Leagues. If you check out my cards, they are hardly at the Silver level. Secondly, I do not have a lot of cards, LOL! Thirdly, and unless I am tired and not in the mood to battle, I do take time to choose the Monsters that I put in my lineup. Lastly, I do not pretend to be as smart or as experienced a player as any of you.

It is understandable how some of us underestimate REXXIE, the Common Earth Monster.

There are valid reasons why this is so. A downside to Monsters is the lack of abilities. Rexxie does not come with any ability until it is at level 4.

To illustrate his usefulness, I chose to share with you one particular battle. In this battle rule set, Monsters lose ALL abilities.

The Ruleset Back To Basics literally "evens up the playing field". This battlefield scenario is fair and balanced and shows the advantage of Rexxie who would normally be at a disadvantage when competing with Monsters that have abilities. The disadvantage is not just Rexxie's alone but applies to all other such cards that are pitted against Monsters with higher abilities.

Let us compare apples and apples and compare similar high mana (above 5) and high health (above 5) popular Melee tank/s from each Splinter at Level 1.

Note: These are the cards that I have. You may have more choices and stronger cards than these. There are no epic or legendary cards included.

As you can see from the above cards, the power of Rexxie is on its combined high melee attack and it's speed. Except for the Water Monster Serpent of Eld, Rexxie will attack first. And in the battle rule Back to Basic where none of the other Monsters have any abilities, Rexxie with it's power will always inflict serious damage to its opponent.

Rexxie is very effective in low to medium mana battles. It is my experience that in most low to medium mana battles, my opponents most often choose lower mana tanks, and Rexxie eliminates them in one blow!

I have utilized Rexxie effectively as a tank in low to medium mana battle rulesets (1)Unprotected, where tanks do not have armors (Rexxie does not have an armor either), (2)Lost Magic and Broken Arrows which reduces the likelyhood of being attached by Monsters from the enemy back positions, (3) battle rule that preclued the use of the stronger epic and legendary cards such as Rise of Commons, (4) Silence Summoners where enemy cards are NOT given additional Speed or Attack, (4)and of course, Back to Basic rulesets.

Rexxie's health is increased when using the Earth Summoner Lyanna, and its Melee power is increased with Summoner Daria Dragonscale. Placing both Wood Nymph (with Tank Heal and Strenghten abilitoes) and Brownie (with Swiftness and Inspire abilities) in the line-up enhances the effectiveness of Rexxie.

I chose a battle where my opponent is about the same as or a higher rated player than me, and with enemy cards that are at the same as or higher levels than my cards. In this battle my opponent picked a high Mana tank with a higher health than Rexxie and with equal Melee Attack of 5 (buffed from the enemy Summoner) as Rexxie. This battle illustrates why Rexxie will always have a place in my lineup for specific battles.

So here is the battle!

I am a visual learner and understand better about how the cards behave and perform in battles by watching all my battles from start to finish. I hope that you enjoyed at least one of battles above and that you likewise learned something from it as much as I enjoyed sharing it with you!
