Coffee and Crypto Episode 2 - All About Steem

Yes! It's here! Welcome to episode 2 of Coffee and Crypto. I am your host, Ken @kenmelendez, excited to drink some good coffee and share quality insights on the latest cryptocurrency trends.

What is Coffee and Crypto all about?

I felt inspired to create a weekly show to help inspire and serve the community. I wanted to create something fun and interactive where awesome people like you could gain massive value and be entertained at the same time. The only way that I could accomplish such a feat was if I combined two of my favorite things...coffee and cryptocurrency.

This show will be shot in different formats and different locations as the weeks go by. In fact, I plan on shooting 1 or 2 shows with live guests while I am up in Toronto for the Steem Creators Conference and SMT Summit next month. If you are interested in talking about cryptocurrency and would like to be on a future show, feel free to leave a request in the comments below.

What happens each week?

Each week I will be consuming some type of coffee whether that be hot, iced, or some type of mystery item. You will begin to notice a trend of the type of coffee I enjoy the most. Also, each week I will be picking a topic to cover in regards to cryptocurrency that you guys will provide feedback on. For example, this episode is about Bitcoin because it is where I got my start in the crypto world.

At the end of each episode, I will ask you to comment below with questions you have on that topic. If you are one of the first 3 people to comment with a question, I will send you a @steemmonsters booster pack. If you comment after the first 3, then I will still gladly mention your username in the video and in the blog text.

All about Steem

Steem is my absolute favorite cryptocurrency of all time and I discuss why that is during the video. The pilot episode of Coffee and Crypto focused on my first investment, Bitcoin, which then quickly blossomed into full immersion in the Steem community.

What I intended on doing is giving you fun coffee facts after each question but I forgot to research those before I shot the video. If you have any facts that you would like to share about coffee, please feel free to leave them in the comments.

Watching the episode in it's entirety is ideal, but if you would like to skip to a specific question, then please use the minute markers listed below.

Question 1 - @alamogirl (minute 5:07)

What is the big deal with SMT's and how are they going to help
Steemit?

Question 2 - @mrchef111 (minute 8:45)

When do you decide to take out cryptocurrency profits?

Question 3 - @karenmckersie and @khabir (minute 12:12)

How soon before Steem goes back up again? Will it be worth $10
someday?

Question 4 - @onefatindian (minute 16:37)

Will SBD's be removed from the platform? If not, why are SBD payouts on posts showing as $0.00?

Question 5 - @philo.phineas and @artbyclark (minute 18:20)

What are the key aspects of Steem that make it stand out as a
contender to be one of the top cryptocurrencies? What do you like
about Steem?

Question 6 - @chrisrice (minute 23:33)

Is the price of Steem correlated with the % of rewards being paid out
in 50% Steem and 50% Steem Power?

I had an absolute blast shooting this episode. A HUGE thank you to those who commented and left your questions on the previous episode. Without you, then I would be forced to come up with my own questions and that isn't as much fun.

I mentioned a couple resources during this video. The first one is @steemitblog which is where I receive the latest updates on what is happening on the development side of Steemit.com. If you haven't followed them, I highly recommend that you do.

The other resource that I mentioned is Teelkee.com where entrepreneurs can make their own apps without prior development knowledge. I first saw the announcement on this post that I resteemed on my profile.

Next week's episode

Alright guys...here is how I am going to do this. I am going to announce the topic of next week's episode, but I want to do it a bit differently. Instead of writing it out in text, I would rather you actually watch the video to find out the topic.

I will give you a hint and say that I announce the topic after I discuss the last question. Technically you could skip to the end and find out which is completely up to you. If you want to be one of the first 3 people to comment and win that free Steem Monsters booster pack, then please tune into the video.

You are able to view the episode on both @dtube and also on YouTube which I will link to below. You rock my friend and I appreciate you joining me today to discuss Steem. If you have any questions or comments not related to the material discussed today, please leave them below and I'll be sure to read them.

Take care my friend. And until next time...Stay awesome :)
