1. Write about things you know about, care about and most of all are willing to discuss. Use your voice.
One of the best things you can do to help up the quality of your content is to cover the subject you are most knowledgable in, whether you are good at Sports, Crypto Trading, Writing, Blogging, Vlogging, or just day to day things and real life hobbies, no matter it is, the best thing to write about is whatever you can provide insight into. People like to read things they didn't know, but only if it comes from a source of confidence and the source is well educated on the matter. This also makes it much easier to simply write without putting days of effort into a single post and lets your voice come out, which in turn lets your Steemit blog become one of character.
2. Write in short, digestible chunks; no one likes walls of text.
Notice how the most successful posts always do a few consistent things well? One of those things is not writing walls upon walls of text, for one it makes it hard on the eyes, but it also quite literally makes your content boring as well. So be nice to your readers and put a little effort into presentation, write your post, then split it up and add in headings, quotes, images and whatever else will help the visual presentation and make it more digestible.
3. Use images, far too often do people overlook the importance of pictures.
I can't believe i'm still seeing posts without imagery! People respond to imagery far better than simple text and if you want to resonate with your readers, the easiest way to do so is to not only write good content, but back your good content with solid visuals, theres nothing else to it. Add images to your posts and you are far more likely to get a solid following, happy readers and frequent upvotes.
4. Share your post around the web, make sure eyeballs get to read it.
It's one thing to write a post on Steemit, but thats only half the battle, now you need to make sure your post doesn't get buried in the ever growing library of content that is the Steem blockchain, and fast. How best to do this you ask? Well the easiest way is to simply share your content on steemit.chat in the appropriate channels, or start going out and following other people, commenting on their content and getting them to return the favor. There are many ways to grow your Steem network but the most important thing to keep in mind is that you should never stop growing it. The best way to be successful on Steemit is with the long term strategy. Only a few lucky ones get famous over night and thats fine. So start building your following today and carve out your niche for tomorrow!
5. Encourage discussion, and most of all participate and engage your readers.
The easiest way to grow your network is to participate in the conversation with would be followers of yours. Find some content you like? Tell the author why you liked it, and re-steem it for them. See a post thats growing rapidly and have something to say? Go drop a comment, people love to have feedback on their posts. Use steemit.chat, get to know the regulars or even start up your own Twitter and post all of your Steemit posts there and get a new following altogether! There are a zillion ways to grow but everyone is going to do it their own unique way.
