North Idaho Steemit Meetup Recap

Short Version: I Met Some Amazing People And There Were COOKIES!

So, A few months ago @gringalicious messaged me inquiring if I would be interested in attending a meetup with other Inland Northwest Steemians. "Heck ya I would," was pretty much my instant thought reply, and being the gracious person that she is, she scheduled the event around when it would be easiest for me and my fellow librarian pal and Steemit blogger @jacobtothe to attend, right after our yearly All Staff Day.

Every year our library district shutters the librarys open signs and all of us gather together for a day of training. That training encompasses all manner of information designed to help up better serve our patrons. This year we were immersed brain science and how an understanding of brain chemistry can better help our attitudes and health both at work and in life. I'll cover my insights derived from that amazingness in a later post.

As I have been with the library for five years, I was forced to stand in front of all 90 of my fellow librarians and humiliated, er, congratulated for my service. Pictures were involved, and clapping and cheering, but I love the cup they gave me!

After an afternoon of applied first aid training, stress burnout training, some lovely confections, and a cybersecurity lecture, @jacobtothe and I were set free to attend another very anticipated event: The First Ever North Idaho Steemit Meetup!!!

Now, I'll leave the blogging, review, and promoting of that event to the most excellent people ( @gringalicious and @noboxes) that organized it, but I just have to say this: Steemit is beyond blessed to have such a talented group of people in their corner!

In attendance, besides @jacobtothe and I were:

@gringalicious, @rigaronib, @noboxes, @drobinson, @uglysweater, @alovelymess, @fullofhope, @trumpit, @lifes-a-donut, @hotrod, @freerunner.

If you haven't yet followed their blogs, I hope that you do, for they are a genuinely awesome, creative group of people committed to the idea that is Steemit. Last night's meetup was about meeting and greeting the people behind the usernames, eating some good grub, and sharing our mutual enthusiasm pertaining to all manner of subjects.

When my mouth wasn't on fire from my ragin cajun chicken sandwich, I spent many a minutes speaking with every member of the family! I went home elated to have passed an evening in such good company, and as we were getting ready to go @gringalicious gave me a whole pile of these:

HOLY CHEESITS! Her food tastes as good as it looks! She is amazing people! Make her recipes, you totally won't be sorry. Once I stepped through the front door of my home those cookies lasted about as long as a piece of bacon at a pork convention! No joke!

That said, I left the restaurant we met at, Capone's last night full of elation both about the future of Steemit and from having spent my time in the company of such lovely people. Thank you so, so much @gringalicious, @noboxes, and to your lovely mom/wife for organizing such an awesome event. I loved meeting you all!!
