Easy ways to keep you notified of posts, replies, upvotes, etc. Steemit does not really have a built in notifier (not that I know of) and sometimes we need to be notified of certain events. This might not be important for some, but Steemit is gaining more and more users everyday. Keeping track of it all is getting slightly more difficult. I for one like tracking all activity in and around my account.
Here are some ways to keep track of when you are mentioned in a post or in a comment Some of these will also mention when someone has commented on your post. I am sure there are many ways for checking this, here are the 3 ways I
use most of the time.
This post was spesifically made to help out the STEEMIT KNOCKOUT SERIES | 50 SBD+
game! Go knock some players out and claim that prize money!
eSteem App
This is all thanks to @good-karma for all his hard work toward this app to make our Steemit experience more mobile.
The app is still in development and might be buggy at times, I haven't found any major issues yet and really enjoy using it. It is loaded with useful features and if you are a serious Steemian on the move this is a must. It is available for Android/Apple and will get you Steeming on the move!
After your download, follow these steps to set up the notification features:
- After opening the app access the menu in the top left corner.
- Scroll down to Settings
- You will see a Notifications section where you can set it to notify you of Vote, Comment, Follow, Mention, Reblog
Tick the options you want to get notifications for and you are ready to go! eSteem will notify you and keep your notifications on your mobile device until you dismiss them. Awesome sauce right!?
Chrome Browser
Chrome is my default browser and I receive most of my notifications through the built in notification feature. When you are on Steemit Chrome might have asked you to send notifications if you clicked yes you can skip all of this! If you are not getting notifications via Chrome follow these easy steps:
- Go to Customize and control Google Chrome in the top right corner of your browser.
- Go down to Settings
- At the very bottom you should see Show Advanced Settings Click it and the settings menu should expand.
- Under Privacy click on Content Settings
- Scroll down to notifications and click on Manage Exceptions
- Search for https://steemit.com:443 and Allow it to send you notifications.
You should now be able to get notifications from Steemit via Chrome. They pop up in the bottom right corner.
Chrome Android
Pretty much the same as the desktop version. This option is if you do not want to use eSteem (why wouldn't you though?). This method is if you are not interested in using the eSteem app but still want to get the notifications from Chrome. Here are the steps:
(You need to visit Steemit.com in the browser 1st before you can allow it to send notifications.)
- When you are in Chrome on your Android device, go to the menu top right. Scroll down and click Settings
- Under advance you should see Site Settings open it.
- Scroll down to Notifications
- https://steemit.com should be in your list, Allow it to send notifications to your Phone.
The nice thing about the mobile Chrome notification is that it stays in your notification bar at the top of your screen!
So there you have it, some ways to get Notifications. eSteem is my favorite by far. So why am I telling you all this? I am launching a game STEEMIT KNOCKOUT SERIES | 50 SBD+ where these notifications will be really useful.
