I am only thankful to my Allah and my husband @muhammadyasir for bringing Steemit into my life and then @ghulammujtaba and @beingnaveed for being my support systems and guiding lights here.
I have recently been awarded a magnificent 1000SP delegation by the wonderful @stellabelle and received 500Sp from @anomadsoul as I was one of the four winners in the Role Model Steemian contest. I didn't make a post about myself for it, but @ghulammujtaba did the favor for me and I was both, overwhelmed with happiness and honored by it. However, I did not think I'd win it because c'mon, there were like scores of super-amazing Steemians participating in the contest. Fortunately, I did win the contest and just felt so happy and grateful for it. And then just before receiving that delegation, I was honored by @stellabelle for she gave me a fantastic 1000SP delegation and I just couldn't believe my eyes and fate for that. I mean, me really? That was the courtesy of the wonderful post Mujtaba wrote too. You can read it here. I am just so thankful to @stellabelle and @anomadsoul for the amazing honor and for believing in me. I just cannot describe how grateful I am to you both and to @ghulammujtaba in words.
So now I have a total of 1500SP delegated to me and a little over 300SP of my own which makes my full upvote of around 60 cents I guess. I checked it on busy.org yesterday and it was about 66 cents so let's just say 60ish something cents which is quite good I believe. I have power now. I am not an influencer as of yet, but I strongly believe I will be one day. Nonetheless, I am quite happy my voting weight has increased and with this great power comes a greater responsibility which is precisely what I'll be talking about in this post- my plans for growth here.
My Responsibility Towards the Steemit Community
I was never a person who used to only keep her upvotes to herself. I just used to upvote the blogpost I did every day or after 1 or 2 days and I think just upvoted my comment once in the entire 6 months I have been so I never abused my voting power. However, my voting power was quite small back then and grew from 0 cents to 1 and then 3 in about 4 months. It has only grown nicely over the past 2 months when the value of steem increased and it rose to about 15 cents and I was delighted about it. Now, that it is about 4 times more, I feel I need to do better things with it. So what are my plans to better use this responsibility?

Curate More Posts from the Communities I am Involved in
I am a part of some wonderful communities on Steemit and all of them have played a huge role in lifting me up, emotionally and professionally. I am a part of the @ecotrain that has helped me grow more confident emotionally and helped me improve my attitude towards many things and oh yes, it introduced me to some truly wonderful people spread across the globe. A big shout out to @eco-alex for starting this wonderful train and being an amazing driver.
I am also part of the #thealliance and the Gamma Syndicate and these two communities have helped me increase me visibility on Steemit over the past few months. Also, I have made some nice friends because of #thealliance and I am so happy it came into being. I am ever grateful to @enginewitty and @michaeldavid for starting it, to @topkpop for convincing me to join it and being so supportive always and to @tattoodjay for being such an amazing support throughout the process.
Another wonderful community that I am involved in is @thesteemengine which has a great objective- to help the members grow by leaving thoughtful comments on their posts. This honestly makes you read the entire post carefully and improves your commenting ability. Good commenting is an effective way to grow here so when you build this skill, you are quite likely to interact well with people and grow better here. Thank you @ethandsmith, @HopeHuggs, @apanamamama, @Catweasel, and @Enchantedspirit for creating this lovely community.
I am also a member of #steemitbloggers which is an absolutely amazing community for bloggers. It is being managed beautifully by @jaynie who makes sure that members actually contribute to the community by upvoting and commenting the work of other members. Also, she keeps highlighting good work on her own and by collaborating with @appreciator which has helped everyone only grow here.
Also, I write often for @steemiteducation that has also helped me improve my writing style as well as get decent enough upvotes.
These communities have helped me grow so much here that I am just too indebted to them. Now I feel it is my part to do something nice for them. I do check out the posts of the members of the communities regularly, upvote them and resteem them even, but now I am planning to curate more. Every Monday or Thursday depending on when my voting power is 100% starting with this one, I will release a post dedicated to some of the truly wonderful posts I come across by the members in the aforementioned communities, give them my full upvote, write about why I love thoseposts and resteem them for more exposure. I plan to do it every week and I want all of you to ask me about it if I miss out on it one week so I stay accountable to this decision.
Save Your Child Project
In the post that I mentioned above, @ghulammujtaba highlighted a project that he and I wish to start and work on together. We want to write posts on how people can protect their kids against all sorts of abuse, and even invite more people to write on such topics and give a decent SBD prize to the ones we like best. I am also trying to reach out to some NGOs that work to spread awareness on child abuse because I want to donate the liquid earnings from the posts we write on the #saveyourchild tag to those organizations so let's see how all of this pans out.
Hold More Contests
I have been meaning to hold contests for quite some time, but somehow could never fulfill this wish of mine. I am now seriously focusing on this and will try to hold contests regularly and give out 5 to 10SBDs as prizes to the winners.
Supporting Newbie Steemians
In addition, I will always be on a look out for high quality posts especially by newbie writers who are trying to grow better on the platform. I am also thinking of working with newbies to guide them about ways to write better and help them become part of some nice communities here. For that, I just have one thing in mind- a dedicated individual who focuses more on posting original work. It is okay if his/ her work isn't of great quality, but if it is genuine, authentic work, the quality part can be improved.
Support @FamilyProtection
I am so touched by the work @familyprotection is doing and feel strongly about the cause so I have decided to follow its work more and donate as much as possible to it so it can continue spreading awareness on social security services are splitting families apart and wreaking havoc in the lives of people.
While these are my plans, I am open to suggestions and ideas from all of you. I hope to stick to these plans and produce more quality work while doing all of the above. Wish me luck.
Love and light,
Sharoon.
