Women of Steemit: vol 1

Pay It Forward.

I'm sure a lot of you have seen Golden Nuggets. Here's my idea: instead of highlighting the "best-of" I'm going to be sharing some interesting ladies of Steemit that don't get enough recognition! I love paying it forward and showing off well deserving Steemers.

I am planning on publishing once a week. Verification is not required, much like #secret-writer, we are not just focused on the face of the author. What I am looking for is the true Steemit: intellectuals, writers, artists and creators that make this place feel more like a community.

If you haven't already, check it out. User @anwenbaumeister started an impressive project that motivated me to do this. Humans of Steemit: Much like Humans Of New York, except she is getting people to join Steemit first.

Without further ado, featuring two authors, the first edition of Women of Steemit.

@lauralemons

Laura inspired me, and lots of other women to share their stories. More importantly, though, Laura is the reason I joined Steemit. In earlier article: Voices For The Victims, she lets victims be heard. Giving people voices is a very important facet of Steemit that is often overlooked.

Grripping, honest, and strong as hell. Capable of writing about anything, even the things the rest of us are afraid to talk about: Her most recent

fantasy like article: Mind and Go-through, my elaborate childhood imaginary friends, and maladaptive daydreaming is Through The Looking Glass, but in real life.

Seriously, a thought provoking read. Go check it out.

@iamwoman

A new member that I am so excited to see more of! A poet, story teller, healer and activist. She also has an awesome

smoothie recipe : (Vegan Friendly) My Favorite Nutritious Fruit & Veggie Coconut Smoothie.

In her own words, she’s eccentric and quirky, yet heavy and raw. I would have to agree. Her article
Anorexia, Bulimia, Binge Eating, & Orthorexia: I Kind of Have Had Them All, and Still Struggle With Them
a story of mentalhealth that gave me chills.

It reminds me that Steemit was built and created by real people, with real (sometimes not so good) experiences.

If you or anyone you know would like to be featured in one of my shout outs, let me know! This is not limited to women, there will be a separate article open to everyone, featuring minnows/dolphins!
