It's now only a couple of days to go before the Bulacan Meet Up on the 17th of February (Saturday). We are pleased with the response from the local community in Bulacan and we have quickly filled out the slots for our planned number of participants. The Bulacan meet up also turned out to be self-funded with our posts having raised the amount needed to do organize everything. So thank you Steemians for supporting us in our journey and making the Steemit Philippines Meet Up Caravan possible.
With all your support we are now more confident that we would be able to continue the caravan costing us nothing but effort. After the Bulacan Meet Up, we will be publishing a summary of expenses with photos of the participants, the place, all other logistics, and the receipts. This is to be very transparent about what your support has allowed us to do.
In the series of posts about the Bulacan Meet Up and the Steemit Philippines Meet Up Caravan announcement, Steemians from all over the Philippines have expressed appreciation of what we are doing. There are those who wish we can do a meet up in their areas, and we have been in touch with most of them.
This comment trail with @watersnake101 started the thought about re-formatting the Meet Up Caravan some. We want to prioritize areas where there are Steemians who are willing to help us organize the meet ups. We have been getting daily updates from @watersnake101 since. The latest update is via a discord direct message with @dandalion where we were told that he now has some 20 Steemians from Cavite who wish to join the meet up.
With the updates from @watersnake101 and an on-going conversation with @annazsarinacruz (another Steemian from Cavite), we have tentatively planned a meet up for Cavite with these details:
Date & Time: March 10, 2018 (Saturday) 10:00 AM - 1:00 PM
Venue: Buffed N' Barbed in Kawit Cavite
Count of Participants: 30
Note that these might change depending on a few factors that include availability, arrangements with the establishment, costs and available funds.
Similar to the Bulacan Meet Up, the Cavite one will have a mix of Steemians and Non-Steemians participants. We are formatting the Meet Up Caravan in such a way that helps Steemians encourage their friends and family members to join the platform.
Agenda
- Meet & Greet
- Introduction to Steemit (For Non-Steemians)
- @steemph Who We Are, What Do We Do, & Why
- @steemnest Lessons
- @sndbox Introduction
- @utopian-io Introduction
- Powering Up & Why it is Important
- Future Projects
- Question & Answer
We would offer to help Non-Steemians sign up without having to wait for the long verification through delegation. However, the offer will have the below conditions:
- An initial 20 Steem Power temporary delegation (this is more than the 15 Steem Power delegation when signing up the usual way
- The account would have to post at least 3 times a week and use #philippines and #steemph tags
- All SBD rewards will be converted to Steem and Powered up for 30 days, so the account can build its own SP.
- Half the delegation will be recovered after 30 days, and the remaining delegation after another 30 days. The account will then have a total of 60 days to build its own Steem Power.
Those who will not agree to these terms will be taught how to do the normal sign up process, setting expectations clearly on usual wait time.
We wish to hear your thoughts around how we can improve the format of the Meet Up Caravan. Please let us know in the comment section.
If you wish to help us organize a meet up in your locality, kindly leave a comment, contact us (@steemitph and @dandalion) in discord, or join us and leave a message in Steemit Philippines discord channel.
