It was just a normal night in Davao City and we decided to roam around, explore, take pictures, and witness a carefree life the city has to offer. The streets were filled with people walking out from different malls, fast food chains, and restaurants. While most of them waited for the jeepneys and taxies to arrived, others continued walking to their different destinations instead of commuting.
As for me and my girlfriend, we just walked along the streets to wherever our feet will lead us and we happened to come across a burger restaurant named “Burger Chef”.
In this restaurant, you get to customize your own burger starting from the patty, toppings, to which type of bun, and how it will be cooked. (To check the menu and prices click here)
The burgers are prepared and made by Chef Rosalie Monestier. They only use fresh and organic vegetables from Bukidnon and serves homemade desserts, milkshakes, and juices. Aside from their quality food, this store is also promoting local artists and supporting a good cause namely the “Tagum City Food bank”. “Tagum City Food Bank” was created in 2010 by an American Chef named David Wasson and is dedicated to feeding malnourished children.
Every month the “Burger Chef” gives CARTE BLANCHE to a local artist to decorate the blackboard wall with an ephemeral artwork. Every year they support a local charity organization by donating 1 peso per burger sold plus 1000 pesos every month is given in reward for the artist who designed the ephemeral artwork.
After eating, we paid our bills and walked once again going to Gaisano Mall. On our way to the mall, we stopped by a local carnival, played games, and watched the people as they screamed while riding the sea dragon, roller coaster, and the horror house. xD (we never tried any of the rides haha)
After that, we went to “At the Peak” of the Gaisano Mall to relax and to enjoy the night view.
We then watched the last full show of “Mazed Runner: The Death Cure” (great movie by the way) in the cinemas of Gaisano Mall and went home afterward.
