Travel Tip: corn mazes, this summer´s hit of outdoor fun in Czech Republic!

Dear Steemit friends and followers,

Welcome to my Travel Tip series where I promote some of the most beautiful places, interesting landmarks and impressive architectural sites of my homeland, the Czech Republic.

Today, however, I prepared something special for you as I will take you to the best corn labyrinths in the country.

Corn mazes (also known as maize labyrinths) have been popular in the U.S. for decades but this interesting tradition has been recently gaining popularity in Europe too and my homeland, the Czech Republic, is no exception.

There are currently 11 corn mazes open to public in the country with the most popular ones found in the cities of Opava, Hradec Kralove and Pisek. Operated by Fit-Jump Company, these mazes are meant to be more than just outdoor fun. The aim of this project is to make kids leave their computers and go out, to practice their navigation skills and - most importantly - to make them create bonds with nature and ecology.
