As a Utopian moderator, this is my review process on Blog Posts category.
- Read the post. It takes around 5 minutes.
- Review the post according to official Utopian Rules.
- If the post can't get an instant approval, ask for improvements.
This is tricky. You should tell the authors:
- What did they do wrong?
- What can be done for a better content?
- Potential content improvement ideas?
This is just for blog post category. Other contribution categories have their own challanges for reviewing.
Reviewing and commenting on contributions takes a good amount of time. But, as a community- we lack rewarding comments. These comments add value to the network since posting them requires -sometimes- ~30 minutes of moderation work.
The Utopian.tip account
A couple of days ago, as an additional incentive to reward moderators for what they do, I had an idea to upvote moderator comments with a bot automatically. See Supporting Utopian moderators, a new way?. I did a couple of tests and asked elear what can we do about it.
elear liked the idea and implementation and was kind enough to create an account for it. (with a delegation of 5k for the tests.)
After few tests, I took to live and in the last two days, bot equally distributed its upvotes to the moderator comments.
Bot parameters
Main flow:
Bot wakes up once it's voting power is %100.
Get a list of active moderators from Utopian API.
Get 1 moderation comment for each active moderator. (Only moderation comments in the last 24h.)
Distribute %20 of total VP per comment. If 40 different moderators moderated a contribution in the last 24h, it will give %25 vote weight per comment.
Support moderators by delegating to Utopian.tip
Currently, bot has 20k SP. If you admire moderators' work and plan to support them, you can delegate Steem Power to utopian.tip account.
Ideas?
If you have any ideas about the bot's workflow or parameters, feel free to comment. It's open source at github/@utopian-io/utopian-tip.
