True love is unconditional love. It's not narrow, it doesn't impose itself, it doesn't force to make choices or choose alternatives. It's cumulative, it's ecumenical. It doesn't hold back, it doesn't appropriate itself, it doesn't threat. It doesn't charge a thing, it doesn't attack. It's not like Solomon, as it rather sees them going away than splitting them in half.
True love is unconditional love, it's altruistic, it's shared, is directed towards the other's best. It's respect. It's being grateful every day for having them, being fear to death with the possibility of any danger, is a longing for nothing but to long, as the poet said (1 - read below the great poetry by Camões).
True love is unconditional love, or it's not love at all. It may be something else, but it is not love. I guess it's ego. Ego has no space in true love, as the other is truly more important than ourselves.
True love is unconditional love, it's welcoming, encompasses other's universe because it is part of them, loves the ones they love, loves their roots.
True love cares, cuddles, and even pampers.
True love thrills with the other's deeds, it helps them to accomplish their goals.
True love does not compete, does not suffocate, it stops in wonder just by seeing them breathing.

Love is a fire that burns unseen,
a wound that aches yet isn’t felt,
an always discontent contentment,
a pain that rages without hurting,
a longing for nothing but to long,
a loneliness in the midst of people,
a never feeling pleased when pleased,
a passion that gains when lost in thought.
It’s being enslaved of your own free will;
it’s counting your defeat a victory;
it’s staying loyal to your killer.
But if it’s so self-contradictory,
how can Love, when Love chooses,
bring human hearts into sympathy?
