Surreal Art Contest: Entries (Part 4)

contest4.jpg

Wow! I can barely keep up with all the amazing art that's been rolling in!

We're now getting close to the deadline of my Surreal Art Contest. That means if you're interested in contributing for a chance to win from a pool of 20 SBD worth of prizes, there is still a little bit of time left to create a surreal artwork.

I'll be showcasing every piece of submitted artwork. Whether or not these pieces end up being winners, they all deserve some time in the spotlight. Depending on how many submissions come in, I may have to continue showcasing at least a day or two past the contest deadline. The winners won't be announced until all submitted works have been showcased.

And here they are!

1

First up is Circle of Life, in my sleep, a digital artwork made by @coquiunlimited. The piece depicts a large tree with a reflective, geometric box at its centre. To the left is a silver swirl that looks a lot like a sea-shell. Perhaps the scene is set at night, or perhaps it's only darkened by the eclipse. Either way, if you strain your eyes to pierce the darkness, there's a lot to see in this work of art.

Check out the original post to leave a comment and/or an upvote for the artist.

The next entry is by @claucor20. This pencil drawing depicts a flock of birds whose bodies are made up of various groceries flying away from skeletons who have lost their money in front of a market.

Take a look at the original post over at busy.org. Make sure you give the artist an upvote!

This is one of the most mysterious entries to the contest so far. The artist, @diebitch, doesn't say much about what the piece is supposed to represent, but I see a tangled web of limbs with a woman's face near the center. It's certainly an interesting thing to gaze into.

Look at the original post here to give the artist an upvote.

Next up is @mayraro05's submission. A man is hanging by a thread, about to be swallowed up by a literal mouth on the world, surrounded by all of its horrors and vices. His family up above is there to rescue him, but they're disconnected on a separate sheet of paper.

Please head over to the original post to share some of your hard-earned STEEM.

The last submission for today's showcase is from @winizart. The drawing is called Bewitched by a Mermaid. It depicts a main with mermaids on the brain, literally. The swoop of his hair transforms into a wave and the back of his head becomes a sea teeming with jellyfish and yes, a mermaid too. That old sailor will never be the same again.

Make sure you give the original post a well-deserved upvote.

Bonus Art

I'm still doing a surreal drawing every day because I want to join in on the fun! Of course, my drawings aren't eligible to win any prizes, but I still love doing them.

Waterfall.jpg

The drawing is called Waterfall. I'm not very confident about drawing hair or water... so I hope the "waterfall" comes across clearly in the piece. You can see its original post here.

That's it for today. I'll be sharing more of the submissions tomorrow. Stay tuned!

I'd like to say a big thanks to all those who have participated so far. Remember, there's still time if you want to join and 20 SBD worth of prizes to be won! Enter the contest here.
