Color Challenge Wednesday Yellow: The Golden Yellow Statues of Peterhof, St Petersberg

It was a wet and rainy morning when I visited Peterhof in St Petersberg. Peterhof meaning Peter's Court is a UNESCO World Heritage Site and was built at orders of Peter the Great. Despite the rain, the Grand Cascade with its cascading fountains and yellow statues was a magnificent sight to behold. Within the architectural splendor, lies the technological wonder in that all the fountains operate without pumps, relying on the pressure created by the elevation difference to drive the water.
